1. does a leaf fail when it falls?

   does a tree fail during drought?

   this human mind
   grows from a soil
   much bigger than itself

   learn from others
   open to truth
   all around
   crack the shell
   & stay with the old discomforts
   as they bubble away

   stay stay stay!

   and know when You were gone and where you were –

   that ghost town-
   where every sound is a spook
   and every touch
   a terror
   .
   every night a death
   and every morn
   a vile veil
